Itinerary Overview

Tokyo is a city of contrasts, where the ancient and the modern coexist in harmony. In this two-day itinerary, I explored both sides of this fascinating metropolis, from the serene temples and shrines of Asakusa and Ueno, to the vibrant shopping and entertainment districts of Harajuku, Shibuya and Roppongi. I also enjoyed some of the best museums, gardens and observation decks in the city, as well as some delicious food and drinks along the way. This itinerary was the perfect way to make the most of two days in Tokyo.

Important Notes Before Traveling

• • The main mode of transport in Tokyo is the subway and train system, which is efficient, convenient and affordable. I used a prepaid IC card (such as Suica or Pasmo) to pay for fares and avoid buying tickets every time.

• • I also bought a Japan Rail Pass, which gave me unlimited access to JR trains, including the Yamanote Line that circles around the city and connects to many attractions.
